A deeper relationship with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
More from North Africa Regional Director, Emmanuel on the Spiritual Leadership training held in Kante, Togo. “We shared on the importance of prayer and what kind of prayer we should offer to God. Knowing well our African context, we emphasized on praying to know more and better the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, the Holy Spirit and ourselves as children of God. When the trainees were asked to talk about God the Father, their knowledge of Him was so limited. So, we let them know that WILD wants Christians and leaders specially to know Him and by doing so, they will become mature and developed a strong faith in Him and be able to influence others.
Knowing the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit will change their way of seeing enemies and help them to change their mind, to renew their mind. This can be done only through meditation of the word of God, leaning on the Holy Spirit and prayer. These activities require hard work, discipline, and focus. The development of a personal relationship with God requires a lot of sacrifices: wake up earlier, study the word of God, pray and continue working the daytime following the examples of Christ Himself. When we are alone with the words of God, we understand God’s will, we develop faith in Him, we change our Attitude and therefore, help our people to follow us. Based on Caleb and Joshua, trainees were encouraged to have a new attitude by believing God and His promises instead of having eyes on the giants who are before us.”
