Meekness of Service by Yadav from Asia

Meekness in Service

John 13:5 After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

It is a big issue for followers of Christ that in what ways do we need to be meek in order to serve others. When working in a team we might encounter some situations that Jesus has shown meekness as a model for all of us.

Matthew 5:5 blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

It is difficult to understand that if we want to inherit the earth, we have to be a humble. Generally, most of the people understand that if we want to rule over the people, we should be powerful and believe in ourselves.

According to Galatians 5:22-23 Meekness is one of the fruits of Holy Spirit. Meekness comes by walking in the control of the Holy Spirit and depending upon God. But sometimes the human attitude, position and prestige do not allow them to be so humble. But a Christian leader must be a meek person who serves well. We need to be a slave and kindhearted to serve Jesus and His people. If we live in meekness, God will teach us to live a satisfactory life. As a result, we can serve His people without any worry about our needs.

2 Corinthians 6:10 “sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.”  While Paul was out spreading the gospel he faced many challenges. But he says I have learned to live and be content in any circumstances. This is a gift of meekness from God. If we can serve with contentment in any circumstance it is the gift of God for our service. When we have an attitude of meekness it is possible to serve His people. As a follower of Christ we need to be a low profile (humble) minister as He was a perfect model of a meek person.

Prayer: Lord, help us to serve your people as you want. Lord, guide us by your Holy Spirit and help me to be meek in your service.
